Construction and Demolition Recycling

Construction & Demolition Recycling

Municipal Code - Solid Waste:  Section 8.40
Construction & Demolition (C&D) Debris accounts for a significant portion of the waste going to local landfills. Unlike bottles, cans or newspaper, C&D Debris is more challenging to recycle.  To help residents and businesses reduce and recycle more C&D Debris, the City of Brentwood enacted a Construction & Demolition Debris Recycling Ordinance that require a minimum 50% diversion or more of C&D Debris from projects that exceed specified size or cost thresholds.

Electronic Reporting: Waste Management Plan (WMP)
The City provides web-based C&D disposal record keeping and analysis via Green Halo.  This system enhances accurate recording of C&D Debris disposal and diversion.  It provides the contractor and/or property owner a convenient and efficient way to create and submit a completed Waste Management Plan (WMP) that complies with all C&D Ordinance requirements in the City's service area.  To begin your project, contact the Building Department.
