A transportation permit must be obtained if:

• The vehicle/load exceeds 14' in height
• The vehicle/load exceeds 8' in width
• The vehicle/load exceeds 65' in length

Transportation permits shall be carried in the vehicle at all times.

How to Obtain a City Issued Transportation Permit

The following items must be submitted to Engineering prior to the approval of a transportation permit:

• Transportation Permit Application
• Certificate of Liability Insurance - Must have City of Brentwood as Additional Insured, and General Liability must be at least $1,000,000. Certificate of Liability Insurance must include additional insured endorsement.
• Copy of any other permits obtained (e.g., Caltrans, County).
• $16.00 Transportation Permit fee - Can be paid with a credit card or check. If paying by credit card, include the credit card number and expiration date with the Transportation Permit Application. If paying by check, fax a copy of the check with the Transportation Permit Application.

The completed Transportation Permit Application can be submitted by clicking on the "Submit by Email" button on the application. Please allow 24-48 hours for City processing.
