LAUNCH 2025 Internship Program
The City of Brentwood, in partnership with the Liberty Union High School District, is excited to announce its 2nd Annual L.A.U.N.C.H Internship Program, inviting high school students to gain hands-on experience within local government. This program offers a unique opportunity for students to develop skills, build professional connections, and gain real-world insights into public sector careers.
Program Overview
The 2025 L.A.U.N.C.H Internship Program is designed as a structured, focused learning experience, offering mentorship and practical training across several city departments. Interns will work closely with dedicated mentors, receive on-the-job training, and build career knowledge that aligns with their studies. Additionally, interns will expand their professional network and gain career guidance to support their future pathways.
Available Internship Positions
There are four internship positions available, each with a specialized focus within a city department:
- City Manager’s Office – Gain insight into city leadership and administration.
- Public Works Fleet – Experience the mechanics of maintaining city vehicles and equipment.
- Public Works Water Quality Laboratory – Work in environmental science, exploring water quality and lab procedures.
- Parks and Recreation – Learn about planning and running community events and programs.
Program Duration and Schedule
The program runs from early February to early July 2025. The schedule is flexible to accommodate after-school hours and may include weekend work, depending on each internship’s specific requirements.
