The City of Brentwood Arts Commission is an advisory commission to the City Council made up of five (5) Brentwood residents. Commissioners are appointed to terms of three years. Terms of members are staggered so that no more than two terms expire in any one year. Arts Commissioners make recommendations to the City Council on arts matters. Commissioners should be knowledgeable about and represent a cross section and distribution of membership among the major art and cultural fields, which may include one or more of the following disciplines: architectural arts, dance, art education, fiber arts, literature, music, painting, performing arts, photography, ceramics, sculpture, murals, visual, functional art, and crafts. In addition:
- This Commission meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
- There is no compensation provided for Commission Members.
- Applicants for this Commission must reside within the city limits.
- Two commission appointments are available due to current term expirations on 12/31/2024. Should Commission vacancies occur in 2025, the list of remaining applicants from this application period may be used.
- Applications must be received by Friday, January 3, 2025.
- The review of applications and selection of new Members will be confirmed by the City Council following an interview process at a publicly noticed meeting.

As required by State and local law, all members appointed to the Arts Commission are required to file a Statement of Economic Interests, Form 700. Items that must be disclosed on the Statement of Economic Interests include: interests in real property located within the city limits or within two miles of the city limits, or within two miles of any land owned or used by the City; and investments and business positions in all business entities and income, including loans, gifts, and travel payments from all sources. The Form 700 is a public record subject to disclosure upon request.
