Home MenuAmericans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan
The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA is the short title of United States Public Law 101-336, 104 Stat. 327, enacted 1990-07-26, codified at 42 U.S.C. § 12101 et seq.) which was signed into law on July 26, 1990 by President George W. Bush. The ADA is a wide-ranging civil rights law that prohibits, under certain circumstances, discrimination based on disability.
The City of Brentwood has prepared an ADA Transition Plan to fulfill the requirements set forth in Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The ADA states a public entity must reasonably modify its policies, practices, or procedures to avoid discrimination against people with disabilities.
This Plan will assist the City in identifying policy, program, or physical barriers to accessibility and to develop barrier removal solutions which will facilitate the opportunity of access to all individuals.
