Residential Garbage & Recycle/Yard Waste Collection Route Rebalancing - Beginning Week of July 15, 2024

The City’s Solid Waste Division is implementing a Route Rebalancing effort to enhance the efficiency of collecting residential garbage, recycling, and yard waste for our growing community.

Route Rebalancing is a comprehensive review and restructuring of all collection routes within our City. As part of this process, the City aims to reassess and optimize these routes, ensuring logical mapping and a balanced distribution of stops across all routes.  Additionally, these changes will improve the efficiency of the City’s transfer station processing by balancing out the volumes of recycling streams each week.

Effects of Route Rebalancing on Solid Waste Collection Services

  • Alternating Recycling /Yard Waste Weekly Schedule: Half of the City's residents will have their alternating recycling/yard waste schedule flipped.
    • Residents who live in the Yellow Zone can view their updated service calendar here: Yellow Zone Calendar
    • Residents who live in the Red Zone can view their updated service calendar here: Red Zone Calendar
  • Service Day Change: Garbage service day may change. If your service day changes, a written notification via US mail will be sent to your service address to inform you of the new service day.
  • Changed Service Times: Drivers may service your home at a different time than previously. Please continue to place carts at curb by 5:00 a.m. on your service day or the night before.
  • Variation in Assigned Drivers: Customers may have a different driver assigned to their route.

The City remains committed to ensuring a smooth transition throughout the Route Rebalancing initiative and appreciates your patience and understanding during this optimization process.
